If you’re like me you go loco for Coco… Chanel that is…

King Karl revamps Byzantine magnificence taking Chanel to a whole new level of luxe. Massive embellishment and ultra jewelled glam offset by sumptuous fabrics in deliciously divine tones of white, cream and my favourite of all …navy.

Time to throw on some great structured knits or coats for day and layer and accent with bling… and lots of it. Keep your base colour simple and contrast with eyepopping accessories.

The shoes? make em big and bursting with bling…

Take ”Glamer” … this platformed wondershoe from Mollini is high end how-do-you-do that doesn’t just sparkle… it SPARKLES!!!

Bejewelled divinity yet again from Mollini with “Please Me“… with this attention getter that’s just as much attitude as altitude… please yourself!

Look every inch the fashion queen of the night in “17017” … gold glam and gorgeous your feet deserve just as much attention as they’ll get in these right regal heels from Kosheen.

Arm candy hits ultra glamourous heights with these gems from Olga Berg

The belle of the ball? Forget her… be the empress to impress with either “OB4055” ( diamente work over sumptious black satin that’s to-die-for deco) or “OB1161” … words fail to do it justice… it’s silver its beaded, it’s sparkly… oh..just think of heaven and times that by 1000…

Transform flats and pumps with shoe clips from Emmersen… pop on a pair of “Darling Diamond“ for some major magnificence. Or go a little classic with “Miss Pearl“. But think outside the box and clip them to headbands, lapels, clutch bags, scarves, anywhere that’s just begging for some extra bling.

Time for timepieces…

D&G does drama and then some… blind with bling… it’s definitely time to shine with “Night and Day“  or aptly named “C’est Chic“… both gorgeous pieces of jewellery that just happen to tell time…

So, for an injection of glamour unleash your inner princess and get set to “empress”…

Sometimes more CAN be more.

Proenza Schouler knows how to work it, Diane Von Furstenberg does it with ease, Kate Bosworth rocks it and, thanks to Louis Vuitton, even boys are getting in on the act…

Listen up… I’m talking about orange. Fluoro, burnt, muted or pastel, orange can inject life into any wardrobe whether it dominates or accents. So take it from me, a little vitamin C can do wonders to lift your spirits.

Here’s my quick style fix for some ways to help you picking oranges…

Simba“, these eyecatching ballerinas from Siren add a citric twist to your Audrey style.

88193” …This funky little crossbody courtesy of Ada G is the perfect way to keep it all together while on the go.

FC2692” Want to steal the limelight? Forget lime, I’ve an orange crush on this evening clutch from Olga Berg.

Poolside or on the go, Betula dials up the wow factor in electric orange with “Energy” … flip flops never looked cooler.

Style goes from eclectic to citric with DKNY. Its time for a colour pop with “NY4794

My best for last… hot heels from Mollini… in orange this hot, “Goldeneye”  will have you holding your own against any man… even that Bond fellow.

Orange… in? out? in? out?

Orange… around again… just like clockwork.

What happens when Icons love Icons?…

Ingrid Bergman loved and worshipped at the altar of Bulgari, influencing young daughter Isabella Rossellini to do likewise.

In a tribute to both Hollywood Icons, Bulgari has created wondrous Bergman style lovelies featuring Ms Rosselli in the campaign. Love love Love!

Then of course there’s Hermes and the famous Kelly bag, homage to the great Grace, Icon AND Princess!

If you’re after a little Hollywood magic, channel Grace Kelly or the incomporable Ingrid Bergman (3 time Academy Award Winner thank you very much) with these fab little numbers I’ve come across…

Bourgeois Flap from Guess. Textured, Sculptural, Evocative, Modern.

Visage Flap from Guess. “Bergman hits the pavement” with this modern interpretation.

H7-9508 from Serenade, I’m thinking Bulgari with a leopard twist. Grrrr Baby!

Last but not least… have a look at this one…. it’s so much fun I’m leaving it as a suprise.

So ladies,

armed with Iconic looking pieces such as these you can walk with a bit of Grace…

or Ingrid.

Ladies, this is a quick read…

Spice it up and take a leaf from Bettie Page’s style book…

Leopard, jawdropping, and plenty of va-va-va-voom.

In struts “Officers” from Mollini…

Team with sinfully divine fishnets from Leona Edmiston …

Wallflowers need not apply…

Royal “Duplikates”.

May 4th, 2011

Ok…

She’s gorgeous, she’s a Princess and we’re all totally envying her right now. But seems fashion-wise Princess Kate can do no wrong. Gone are the see-through frocks and the barely there party dresses. So… how does a girl who’s all class show off a fabulous pair of pins?….

Boots darlings!

Go from country to casual to cocktail with these totally gorgeous “Duplikates” I’ve hunted down…

What goes with denim? Cognac… and not the wet kind. Valeria Grossi has just the tipple to warm you up this Winter.

Oh so British but we’re cheating with a Spanish love… Pedro Miralles is indulgent country “proper”.

Urban casual in woolly warmers… Be a patriotic Princess in 100% Australian UGG. My personal fave is the Zsa Zsa in black with Tri-Crystal (Swarovski darlings). Sigh…….

Be well heeled for a polished look…Dansi has the calves covered in ultra chic style.

So, if you’re looking to be Princess pretty whatever your situation, don’t forget to pamper your toes with some fabulous boots.

You never know your luck…

Harry’s still single…

You’ve got to love an adventurer. Actually, you’ve got to ADMIRE an adventurer. When it comes to gals with gumption one little lady trumps them all for me… Amelia Earhart. Famous aviatrix, less famous designer of a range of shoes and clothing (sold in Macy’s back in the day) and ultimately famous missing person her impact on fashion is evident to this day. Most impressive homage to Ms Earhart?… Burberry Prorsum… hands down.

High altitude and high attitude, Zola interprets the Burberry aviator ankle boot in delicious cognac. Realised in stiletto sexiness, faux fur lined “Lajazz“ reinvents the aviatrix look from parachute to ulta chic parachute pants (think H&M … NOT M C Hammer).

Laurban” takes it from the skies to the street with a no-nonsense style serious lace-up ankle boot.

Laosky” keeps it edgy yet feminine in ’30s Amelia style. Pair with tights or high fashion hose for when your biplane’s in the shop. The black is classic with an edge but I can’t go past this GORGEOUS mink colour…

Funk up your mile-high style with chunky manstyle timepieces from Guess. “Prism” is right on target style wise in the top gun department with more than enough bling to keep it girly.

And for the ladylike adventurix, keep it cocktail with a sense of adventure with highly individual leather cuff “Mini Autograph“. It’s class with a capital EDGE.

So, in closing,

every outfit is an adventure,

and taking inspiration from the greats like Ms Earhart…

the sky’s the limit.

Grey Expectations

February 15th, 2011

“In a word, I was too cowardly to do what I knew to be right, as I had been too cowardly to avoid doing what I knew to be wrong.”

Interpreting the words of the great Charles Dickens, this can be so so true when it comes down to that eternal dilemma…. What to wear today?

So for those in doubt?.. Lean in close and I’ll give you a trend tip that will eliminate all doubt regarding style… It’s time to go GREY!

Soft, subtle and totally misunderstood, grey accessories can give you polish and style while affording to take some slightly more risqué and fashion forward choices without looking like a fashion victim.

Lets talk boots. No doubt every girl worth her salt has a black pair of boots that emerge from the shoe closet every Winter. Go grey and a fantastic pair of boots can transcend season without looking too heavy in the warmer months. Django & Juliette serve up several pieces of grey gorgeousness.

First off the rank, “Howling” might be just the boot you’re looking for. This calf length Victorian style lady is all class in leather lace trim.

Patent meets suede in the form of “January“, stylewise this wedge is the Rolls Royce silver ghost of wedges. Slick, elegant and ever so luxurious in look and feel.

Edgy risk takers… take note. Siren answer the call for grey goodies for the gal on the go.

Ballet pump “Silence” has me pirouetting with joy. Soft suede and a gorgeous bow of silver beading… divine much?

Siren also has all style sirens blaring with “Steph”. Peeptoed, wedged, laced… this urban ankle stunner will have you Stephing out in style. Teamed with girlie frocks, skinny jeans or knock em dead leggings… yes please!

Fizz” will have you doing a spin on icon Audrey. It’s a ballet flat … with a heel! The geniuses of Magnini meld fashion and comfort in this leather lady with a pom pom adorned toe in suede. And ladies… an inside secret… softer than a cloud… Sssssh!

Ever hear the urban legend of the woman who had the PERFECT handbag? Jealous much? Well don’t be. Petusco will have you covered in both the chic and tote departments with “114” in grey with pink and blue accenting. Euro fabulous and oh so handy it’s your perfect match… well that and the matching wedge…(style “956″ for all you wedge lovers out there).

So go grey, and go with confidence.

And to anyone who questions it, say it with me…

“What the Dickens!?”

Las Vegas… Monte Carlo… San Remo

Wherever you are in the world there’s no need to take a gamble when looking fabulous. Hold your own amongst the fashion high rollers with ultra luxe look accessories that will have you coming up aces.

Channel old Vegas and a little Marilyn Monroe with SHS010. In Glamazon gold or Screen Siren silver, this slip-on rakes in all the chips when it comes to vintage sexy. Dripping in diamentes (including THAT heel) it looks dipped in champagne.

Upping the ante yet again it’s more sparkle from Ameise. Indulging in some showgirl chic, your feet will look wrapped in chandeliers with SHS951. Sophisticated pewter keeps it relatively low key glam but I wager showstopping silver will pay off in the attention seeking stakes.

In a nod to ultimate showgirl Dita Von Teese, bankroll all your glamour and stun in Miss Las Vegas. This strappy bejewelled number from PeepToe is SO fabulous double or nothing all eyes are on you. And girls, trust me… in a shoe this sinfully gorgeous good times are bound to be had.

And remember ladies…

whatever you wear…

what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

From here to eternity.

December 31st, 2010

Like sands through the proverbial, time is one of those eternal entities that governs us all. Speaking of time, it’s that time of year again…

I’m talking New Year’s Eve, and where I’m sitting right now the new year is just under 9 hours away.

No need for all us modern day Cinderellas (slaving for the boss rather than the evil stepmother) to depend on some coddled prince for happiness. The times definitely ARE a-changing.

So my latest installment is just a nod to a few “timeless” little gifts you can give yourself or any other Cinderella in need of a treat.

My personal fave top 5 timepieces instore

Classicism from Fossil

Cocktail hour from D & G

Fresh and funky from DKNY

Leopard luxe from Guess

and from Guess…

Something a bit unique….

So, new year…

new watch.

Treat yourself …

It’s about time.

Australian design icon Florence Broadhurst’s genius endures and inspires still. Remember Akira Isogawa’s wearable wallpaper fancies? Patterns and fabric go hand in hand with colour and form taking you to magical exotic places no matter where you are. Brighten up and wear some art, you have no idea how refreshing it can be. Oh-so-’70s wallpaper style graphics will ensure you get all the attention you deserve and at the moment Fossil is doing it fabulously.

Funk up your holiday with this absolute groover of a duffle bag, pack a retro picnic or hit the beach in style. Team it with the hippest little espadrille in town, Kameo is wrap-around-gorgeous and teams with your summer look effortlessly.

Shop til you drop with art on your arm with the Key Per Shopper. The only hindrance will be having to stop to continually let people in on the secret of where you got that amazing bag. For the serious girl about town hands free gets down and funky courtesy of the Key Per Crossbody.

All this retro ’70s fash flashback will have you reaching for your fave pair of flares but don’t forget the groovy shoes. Remember gorgeous Bessie? This divine wedge transcends time, turns heads and flatters the foot. Who knew a wedge could be so clever?

So Ms Broadhurst, thank you for your style and your artistry.

My tip for easy sophistication this summer?

Go with the Flo!
